APOTEK K-24 WINS GOLD CHAMPION OF INDONESIA WOW BRAND AWARD 2014

Wednesday, 25 June 2014, Apotek K-24 won Gold Champion of Indonesia WOW Brand Award 2014 which was held by MarkPlus, Inc for category Consumer Healthcare Product and Service with sub category Chain Pharmacy. In this awarding event, Apotek K-24 surpassed its competitors which are Apotek Kimia Farma (silver) and Apotek Century (bronze). The award was directly given by the head of National Food and Drugs Control Agency (BPOM RI), dr. Roy Alexander Sparringa, M. App. Sc, and accepted by Marcus Laurentius (Business Development Manager of Apotek K-24) in Ballroom 2, JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Centre.


Indonesia WOW Brand Award is one of highest award for brands in Indonesia. This award is given to brands which have highest BAR (Brand Advocacy Ratio) score according to the survey which was done by MarkPlus Insight in several large cities in Indonesia.


The survey which was done during February to March 2014, involved 2000 respondents from the age 15 to 60 in 18 large cities such as Aceh, Medan, Padang, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya,  Manado, Papua, and many more. The criteria for the respondents is those who are consumers and decision makers who have more than 1 million income in a month.


According to Farid Subkhan (Chief Executive of MarkPlus, Inc) the concept of Indonesia WOW Brand 2014 is a little bit different from Brand Champion Awards from previous years. The difference lies on the parameter of measuring. In the past, brand popularity was only measured from the awareness level (popularity) and appealing. This year, it is not only measured from that level but also on how the brand can change awareness to advocacy.


In the other words, a brand should be able to change people who only know to be someone who recommends the brand to other people. That is why the winners of Indonesia WOW Brand 2014 are the brands with highest BAR score which is the result of ratio between spontaneous advocacy level to spontaneous awareness level. The most ideal number is 1, which means the amount of people who know the brand is the same for the ones who recommend it.
