SMK KESEHATAN PELITA BANGSA, HUMAN RESOURCES PRODUCER FOR APOTEK K-24
It is no longer a secret if human resource is a priceless company asset. Without human resources, it is impossible for a company to walk by itself. That is why there are many efforts done by the company to get the qualified and skilled human resources to boost business growth, like what Apotek K-24 did.
dr. Gideon Hartono’s passion towards education and health inspires him to establish SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa, following his business instinct in expanding franchise pharmacy which has launched more than 330 outlets in Indonesia. Collaborated with Hi Lab Diagnostic Center, this vocational school for pharmacy assistant and health analyst has special mission to produce qualified and skilled human resources who are suitable with the culture and character of Apotek K-24.
The founder of Apotek K-24, dr. Gideon, also explained that his motivation to establish SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa is to participate in fulfilling the need of pharmacist assistant independently, also to contribute in producing qualified pharmacist assistant graduates. Besides, in accordance with its vision and mission, SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa is expected to produce students with integrity, competence (skilled in their field), and also devotion to the country, as well as to participate in improving Indonesian citizen’s health.
“Terampil dan IT Banget!” or also known as “Skilled and Sophisticated!” is the motto of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa. In this school, students are not only taught with academic subjects but also soft skills which are needed in all human resources. For pharmacist assistant, the students have to be competent in reading doctor's prescription for at least 10.000 sheets. It also applies to the graduates of health analyst. They are not only taught with the skill to operate manual and semi manual tools, but also how to operate high technology devices. Therefore, when they are in working world, they are used to it, skilled, and they can show professionalism.
Besides using complete and modern facilities, SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa also has qualified teaching team which is from practitioners of Apotek K-24, Hi-Lab, and also practitioners from Government Organization of Health Service, and profession organization. SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa also makes new breakthrough by giving 45% chance for practical work. Another benefit of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa that differs from other pharmacy vocational schools is to give guarantee to work after graduates. The graduates from this school are prepared to work at Apotek K-24 in Indonesia.
During an interview moments ago, dr. Gideon Hartono stated his hopes to the graduates of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa. “I hope the graduates of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa to work at K-24. It is actually not only at K-24 but also in medicine distribution, Hi-Lab, or medicine manufacturer that we are establishing now. If the graduates want to continue to the next level of education, they can also continue to STMB Pelita Indonesia.”
“I hope the graduates of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa will be able to be establish in other cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta or Medan so that it can support the human resources for franchise pharmacy of Apotek K-24 there.”
SMK Kesehatan Pelita Bangsa, which is located at Jl. Godean Km. 1, Tambak Kav-24, Bantul, Yogyakarta (in the north of Mirota Godean), started its teaching process by holding Orientation Week for New Students (MPODB) for second batch, since 14 to 21 July 2014. The various activities are flag ceremony, education for pharmaceutical and health analyst world, art appreciation, and a visit to Apotek K-24 Outlets in DIY. This activity was followed by 32 students, which are 16 students from the first batch and 16 students from the second batch.
