CELEBRATING THE 69TH INDONESIA INDEPENDENCE DAY, PT. K-24 INDONEISA HOLDS FLAG CEREMONY AND INTERNAL COMPETITION
This year, on August 17, Indonesian citizen celebrated the 69th Indonesia Independence Day. For the second time, the family of PT. K-24 Indonesia officially held flag ceremony to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day.
Located in the field of K-24 Academy, the ceremony was held on Sunday (17/08) and started from 07.30 WIB. All divisions of PT. K-24 Indonesia, KDE medicine distributor, K-24 academy, the representative of Hi Lab Diagnostic, and also the students of SMK Pelita Bangsa participated in this ceremony.
The theme for this ceremony was “With the spirit of proclamation of 17 August 1945, we support the succession of national leadership as the result of 2014 election to continue development for a better and prosperous Indonesia”
“MERDEKA!!”
That was how dr. Gideon (the chairman of PT. K-24 Indonesia) as the inspector of ceremony greeted all participants. That greeting was replied by the participants who eagerly shouted the same word, “MERDEKA!!”
In his speech, dr. Gideon stated that independence shout would not be as easy as now compared to the colonial era. That is why he invited the participants of the ceremony to go flash back, reminiscing the first time when Boedi Oetomo organization established (20 May 1908), which is celebrated as the National Resurgence Day, and also when the youths of Indonesia pledged unity (28 october 1928), which is celebrated as Youth Pledge Day.
If we looked at the year, those historical days were far from the year of Indonesia independence day. However, there is also similarity, which is far from being independent, Indonesian people already had strong will and dream to unite and seize the freedom from the colony.
The participants were also reminded of “devide et impera”, a political movement done by Netherland to divide and break Indonesian people. At that time, Indonesian were categorized to three groups, Europe, East Asia (Chinese, Japanese) and Inlander. However, with the struggle and sacrifice of the heroes to unite Indonesia, in the end we could be independent.
Back to this era, dr. Gideon understands well that in the presidential election (9 July), each person (including his staffs) has different choice. There was people who chose first candidate, and there was also people who chose the second candidate. The right to choose and deliver each person’s aspiration in “democracy party” is protected with regulations.
In relation with several flashbacks of the history of Indonesia he delivered, dr. Gideon underlined, “if we do not want the history repeated, then we have to keep building the unity of Indonesia. Independence should be colored with our efforts to fight against ignorance, poverty, and deterioration. Diversity is not a resistor to build the unity of Indonesia for national importance.”
That is why, dr. Gideon advised the participants to understand the philosophy of K-24 Logo which is “live harmonically in the middle of diversity”. including the diversity in presidential election. He also encouraged people that whoever chosen candidate, he should be accepted with joy.
After the flag ceremony, the event was continued with halal bi halal, tumpeng cutting, competitions which are identical to independence day (sack race, tug of war), and prize distribution for the winners of each competition. Different from the previous year, a week before the D-day (5-12 August), the company also held internal sport competition (badminton, table tennis, and futsal).
The activities which were started in the last two years, are expected to increase the spirit of the staffs of PT. K-24 Indonesia to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day, and also to understand the meaning of independence by serving Indonesian citizen.
