DR. GIDEON HARTONO WINS KR AWARD IN PINASTHIKA CREATIVESTIVAL XV

Tuesday (30/10), dr. Gideon Hartono (the Chairman of PT. K-24 Indonesia) won “KR Award” as one of figures who is considered to initiate a change in his field. The award is directly handed by Drs. HM Romli, (the main commissioner of PT. BP Kedaulatan Rakyat) during the even Welcome Dinner Pinasthika Creativestival XV with the theme “The Changers” which was located at Tentrem Hotel Yogyakarta.

dr. Gideon Hartono won KR award because of three criterias which are suitable for this “The Changers” figures, which are:

a. A pioneer of rare business and new business innovation

In this case, dr. Gideon founded Apotek K-24, a pharmacy which is originated from Indonesia, and firstly franchised as the first franchise pharmacy that opens for 24 hours non stop. This business innovation is proven to be able to inspire other pharmacy business, either new or old, to franchise their business or open for 24 hours.

b. People’s mindset changer

In the past, buying medicine at night or holiday is very hard because there is no open pharmacy. With the existence of Apotek K-24 that opens for 24 hours, it changes people’s mindset to convert the pattern of medicine buying. In the past, buying medicine can only be done during the day, but now in the middle of the night people can still buy medicine by visiting Apotek K-24.

C. Always maintained and improved until now

Since the launching of first Apotek K-24 outlet in 2002 until today, Apotek K-24 has expanded to more than 342 outlets which are spread in 87 cities/regencies in Indonesia, from Medan to Merauke. Besides pharmacy, dr. Gideon’s business is developed vertically to the upstream by establishing pharmacy distribution company (PBF KDE) and plans to establish medicine manufacturer. The innovation of pharmacy service will also be developed by launching online pharmacy www.obat24jam.com to help people buying medicine online.

Pinasthika Creativestival is one of biggest events in advertising, a creation from Indonesia Advertising Company Association (P3I), Regional officers of DIY, and Kedaulatan Rakyat Newspaper, which is fully supported by the Central Manager of P3I. This creative event is already listed in national schedule by Ministry of Trade to attract international attention. In 2014, Pinasthika has been held for 15 years.
