The fourth nationalism camp DIY which was held on 28-30 October was opened by the governor of DIY, Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, in Banyuroto, Nanggulan, Kulon Progo. On that moment, PT. K-24 Indonesia handed donation for house renovation program for two house units owned by Suradi (55) from Dlingo, Banyuroto, Nanggulan, Kulonprogo and Suwahid (64), the resident of Angin Angin, Banyuroto, Nanggulan, Kulonprogo. This donation was directly handed by the chairman of PT. K-24 Indonesia, dr. Gideon Hartono to the governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, and then given to the donation receiver.
This event also invited 400 young people from various elements such as youth organization from various regencies in DIY, TAGANA, scout, KNPI, and IKPMD. This nationalism camp aimed to develop youth spirit to have creation and to be the special young people who can help the development in all aspects in Yogyakarta or Indonesia.
“The first nationalism camp was held in Bantul on 2012, the second was in Gunungkidul on 2013, the third one was in Sleman on 2014, and the fourth one on 2015 is held in Kulon Progo, it is an activity that is helpful to empower the status of youth organization as the agent of change. Youngsters are great potential to support poverty alleviation and countermeasures”, said Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono in his speech.
Meanwhile, the deputy of government social service, Untung Sukaryadi, explained that Nationalism Camp in Kulonprogo is supposed to be understood not only for a routine but also to show the role in facing the plan of new airport construction in Kulon Progo.
“Karang Taruna has the role as the one to hold social welfare. It is a must for Karang Taruna to take part in preparing citizen to face the new airport. Local resident should not only be the audience, that is why Karang Taruna should be prepared to face it from now,” said Untung Sukaryadi in Kepatihan Yogyakarta.
