As usual, on Sunday, the schedule of the regent of Kulon Progo is to renovate inhabitable house. It has the same thing to do on Sunday, 29 November 2015, during the moment of National Health Day (HKN), a house renovation program was held in Tuksono, Sentolo, Kulon Progo, D.I. Yogyakarta. There were four houses which are renovated with the fund from Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR PT. K-24 Indonesia. The houses are owned by Daliman from Bulak, Temu from Wonobroto, Yanto Wiyono from Ngrandu, and Suparlan from Belik. All of them are originated from Sentolo, Kulon Progo, DIY.
Besides those four houses, PT. K-24 Indonesia also built toilet facilities for 6 house units owned by Samin Tardi Utomo, Trisno Mulyono, Lantor, Mulyono, Sarbini, and Paiyun who are originated from Ngrandu, Salamrejo, Sentolo, Kulon Progo, DIY.
The handover of donation for house renovation and toilet facilities building is directly given by the Chairman of PT. K-24 Indonesia, dr. Gideon Hartono in three locations which are Daliman’s house in Bulak, Yanto Wiyono’s house in Ngrandu, and Suparlan’s house in Demangrejo, Sentolo, Kulon Progo, DIY.
In his speech, dr. Gideon Hartono said that this donation is a form of concern from Apotek K-24 towards Sentolo residents. Gideon also added that this donation hopefully can help people to have more habitable and healthy house.
Kulon Progo government’s concern to increase the sense of mutual cooperation in fact makes people to be more attentive towards social life. In the beginning of the program, the fund from CSR team of large companies is usually larger but now the fund from people’s self funding is larger.
Even so, Hasto Wardoyo, the regent of Kulon Progo admits that the house renovation program did not solve the problem yet for poor and underprivileged people. Also, according to the regent, the most important thing besides house renovation program is the house owner should have permanent job.
The regent of Kulon Progo said that the development done has to be based on local culture. According to the government of DIY, culture is “Hamemayu Hayuning Bawana”, and the governor has directed to keep maintaining our own culture, in which is mutual cooperation in the regency. Therefore, if this construction is done together, it means we have protecting the local culture as well. People should also understand that the action of poverty alleviation is not enough if we only rely on government. Hence, social concern from the citizen is needed as well.
Hasto also encourages people who attend the house renovation program to keep being grateful because of the blessing given by Allah SWT. It is true that the audience at that time experience the difficult access to the location of house renovating program which is located on the peak of the mountain, the road is slippery and narrow, and there is also house which does not get electricity. Visiting the unprivileged people will hopefully help people to be more attentive towards them. Besides, it hopefully can be transformed spiritually because they know that there are still poor people who live their life hardly, so that others can be more thankful over the blessings given by God.
