Jogja - Besides the cleaning service staffs, or often called yellow troop, Yogyakarta Environmental Agency (Badan Lingkungan Hidup - BLH) mustered three tanker trucks to clean Malioboro area after the celebration of New Year Eve party, on Saturday (1/1). In three hours, starting from 04.00, the yellow troop, which consisted of 250 persons and supported with three tanker trucks, got help from hundreds staffs from Apotek K-24 and K-24 Academy to clean Malioboro. The cleaning activity was also done in the area of Mandala Krida, Alun-alun Utara, around the city hall, Pojok Beteng, Jl. Mangkubumi, and Jl. AM Sangaji. The representative from BLH, Soeroto, revealed that the cleaning activity was wholly done in the tourist attraction and the center of crowd during the new year eve. “We mustered all of the staffs. Those who were supposed to be in leave, we called to help cleaning Jogja from any garbages. In total, we have 250 staffs. We also got a help from hundred staffs of Apotek K-24,” said Soeroto, in the middle of leading the cleaning activity in Malioboro, Saturday (1/1) morning. Besides Soeroto, during this action, there was also dr. Gideon Hartono and his wife. dr. Gideon said that the city cleaning was done earlier than usual. It happened because garbage production increased significantly fourfold compared to the other day. With the earlier cleaning, it is expected that people’s routine activity will not be disturbed.
