Therefore, it can manifest his noble mission which is to provide people’s needs in original and complete medicine evenly and to serve for 24 hours non stop.
Gideon explained that pharmacy business is an endless gold mine no matter how the situation is. It will always be needed, as long as people are aware of their own health. “Therefore, it is not a seasonal business because it will not be affected with lifestyle trend, or mode,” he said.
From investment aspect, opening Apotek K-24 is affordable. It is simply because the franchise fee is only Rp. 80 million for partnership period of 6 years. The royalty fee is low as well, it is just 1.2% per month. Gideon said that the royalty fee of Apotek K-24 is the lowest compared to other franchise pharmacies. This low royalty fee is intended not to burden the franchisee.
Then, to build an outlet, it needs a room sized at least 60 m2 located in the strategic area. That space has to meet the standard of Apotek K-24, started from its furniture, interior, exterior, IT support, and also the signage of Watch Brands. In total, to open an Apotek K-24 outlet, the franchisee has to prepare initial investment fee for about Rp. 650 to 700 million.
Because it is a franchise business, the franchisee will also get support from franchisor. The support will be given starting from pre-operational until operational. Pre-operational supports can be given in the form of location survey, outlet design, human resources, initial training, medicine supply, and many more. The operation support is in the form of human resource training, guidance, administration and finance, promotion, and many more.
Since Apotek K-24 is a pharmacy that opens for 24 hours and selling original medicine with affordable price, from the experience of previous outlets, in average an outlet can make about Rp. 250 million in a month.
Hi-Lab, Laboratorium Diagnostic Centre
Apotek K-24’s success in leading franchise pharmacy chain in Indonesia makes the founder, dr. Gideon Hartono, to establish a Laboratorium Diagnostic Center named Hi-Lab. Similar to Apotek K-24, Hi-Lab is also prepared to be developed with franchise system with the hope to be more popular nationally or in Asia.
As the beginning step, Hi-Lab that is established by Gideon on Desember 2007 in Yogyakarta, will open its branch in Jakarta. According to Wenny, the opening of Hi-Lab branch in Jakarta is the result of partnership with one of Apotek K-24 franchisees in Jakarta, “From the start, Hi-Lab is created with ready to franchise system, everything has been standardized,” Wenny said.
More explained, as Laboratorium Diagnostic Center, Hi-Lab prioritizes technological sophistication. Its technology has been acknowledged by MURI as the first laboratorium in Indonesia which result can be accessed by sms or internet.
